Origami Instructions presents: Origami Paper Airplanes

No secret that origami can turn a piece of paper into almost anything. Each time we make an update of Origami Instructions we try to ‘embrace the unembraceable’ and place more and more different origami models into the app. This time we’ve made a surprise for those who is fond of airplanes, history and military art all together. No doubt that this update will be extremely of interest to men and their sons. So, we’re happy to announce a Parade of Origami Airplanes which are made in accordance with their real prototypes.

Watch and enjoy!

The Fokker D.VIII was a German monoplane fighter aircraft that entered service in the last months of World War I. It is the last type of a fighter aircraft that was used in air combats of World War I. It was delivered to the battlefield in October, 1918. A total of 400 aircrafts were manufactured. This plane was in service with the airforce of many other countries like Holland, Japan, Poland.

A strike fighter is a multirole combat aircraft designed to operate primarily in the air-to-surface attack role. High tolerance to battle damage, maneuvering superiority, good handling qualities, heavy armament, the ability to destroy targets in hard-to-reach places – that’s not a full list of characteristics of a strike fighter.

A fighter aircraft is a military aircraft designed primarily for air-to-air combat with other aircraft. The hallmarks of a fighter are its speed, maneuverability, and small size relative to other combat aircraft.

A jet plane is an aircraft propelled by jet engines. Jet aircraft generally fly much faster than propeller-powered aircraft and at higher altitudes – as high as 10,000–15,000 metres (33,000–49,000 ft). At these altitudes, jet engines achieve maximum efficiency over long distances. Jet planes form the mainstay of the modern aircraft fleet.

A swept-wing airplane is an experimental aircraft which was very original and extraordinary for its time. The first swept-wing airplane appeared in 1907 and was invented by a talented Irishman, J. W. Dunne. A swept-wing’s main advantage was that it remained stable in all axes.

The Aero L-29 Delfín is a military jet trainer aircraft that became the standard jet trainer for the air forces of Warsaw Pact nations in the 1960s. It was Czechoslovakia’s first locally designed and built jet aircraft.

Two Cool Scarf Knots in One Video: European Loop and Figure Eight Knot

As the previous post about how to tie the European loop was devoted mostly for men, it’s time to show that this scarf knot can be worn by women too, just make sure that the scarf must be more feminine and thin, like a silk pashmina or stylish silk scarf.

The Figure Eight Knot is one more scarf knot that looks sophisticated and elegant at the same time. If you’d like to tie your scarf with this knot, remember that this knot will be in the center of attention of your entire outfit, so here are some recommendations for you:

  • Pick stylish scarves but make sure that its pattern doesn’t overlap the beauty of the pattern;
  • The rest of your outfit must not be too bright in colors or elaborated in style as you may look awkward;
  • Men also can tie this type of knot, but must choose knitted or woolen scarves in dark colors.

This video instruction will help you to tie the European loop and the Figure Eight Knot. Share it with your friends, the spring is coming and everybody wants to look gorgeous in the beginning of the year!

And we remind you that How to Tie a Scarf app has lots of other tying instructions for many other knots! Check it yourself by downloading the free version of this app.

Make Cute Animals with Lego: Lego Farm, Lego Circus and Lego Africa

We’ve added more Lego instructions to the Lego Instructions app. Now it has instructions for Lego farm set with the animals like a pig, ram and sheep; Lego circus set with funny clowns and poodles; and some more instructions for African animals: an elephant, giraffe, hippo and tropical birds.

Lego is a fun game for boys, girls and small children. Some fantasy – and using simple Lego bricks we can collect figures of people and animals. No kid will stay indifferent to a small cute dog or funny sheep into which common plastic bricks turn. New instructions included to the app will be especially useful for the beginners and parents with small children. Also, many of these animals are easy to do and they don’t require any special parts or bricks.

You can use these simple and easy Lego toys to play with your kid. While building these animals, small children can learn their names or the places where they live. For example, you can make up a story about animals that live in Africa or ask your kid to make up a story about animals that live in a farm. This will serve two purposes at a time – your kid will have fun and learn something new. Take a Lego animal and ask your kid: Do you know what animal is this? – Yes, it’s sheep. And what sound does it make? – It bleats. -Yes, that’s right…

Such games are very useful because children learn something new better while they play.

Romantic scarf knots for St. Valentine’s day

St. Valentine’s day is almost here. Have you already decided what to put on for this special day? Would you like to look romantic, sweet and beautiful? If it’s what you want, it’s high time you should get a must-have thing for any woman – a silk stylish scarf. On this special day, How to Tie a Scarf new update contains new instructions for romantic scarf knots for you. They will be perfect for silk scarves, silk printed scarves, square neckerchiefs and pashminas.

To get the real idea of the silk scarf, a truly womanish accessory, it’s necessary to spend a couple of hours in a Paris cafe watching French mademoiselles who seem to be born with a knowledge of how to wear and tie a scarf. There are a great number of ways of wearing scarves: scarves wrapped on head, scarves as a waistbands, scarves decorating bags, scarves tied around neck…

There are just few legendary trademarks known for producing quality and beautiful silk printed scarves - Gucci, Etro, Salvatore Ferragamo and Hermes. To get a silk Hermes scarf – is a golden dream of any fashion girl.

A square neckerchief is a hand-made thing made during 2 years from 250 pods of silkworms and its weight is only 65 gram! Statistically, one Hermes scarf is sold every 25 seconds though its price is rather expensive – a neckerchief of 90×90 will cost you about 400 to 700 dollars.

The great merit of a silk scarf is that it gives a final touch to the style, brings charm and drama to the final look. When going out, just tie a silk scarf around your neck – and be sure that no man will just go by not casting an admiring look at you!
